WEEE

a very "all over the place" blog post

this is the first time i'm making a blog post about my day-to-day life, dang! but this past month has been pretty eventful for me, so this will serve as kind of a run-down of things that happened, divided by each week

small note before you read: after i wrote all this i realized that most people wouldn't find these details very interesting...this is a lot, and i mean a lot of rambling. i actually cut out a lot of "unimportant" details, and i still feel like it's too much. so just do with that what you will

june 10th - june 17th

i graduated from high school on june 14th. it wasn't very well organized to be honest, but still fun to put on the robe and hat and be called up on stage. my classmates actually arranged it so that each one of us would take the microphone and take an oath after being called on stage, so that was kinda cool. the oaths were all taken from my website, and the one i got was related to "diversity" (funnily enough). i also got a REALLY beautiful rose, it was literally THE textbook definition of a beautiful rose. this is the kind of picture you'd first see after googling "rose". you can see it here:

on june 17th was my native language speaking exam (and also my first exam out of 5), which went much more well than i had expected! even though there wasn't really a way to fail it, i think i had stressed to much over it. the entire exam lasted about 15 minutes and it consisted of a short text fragment, 3 exercises related to the text, and 1 short opinion essay.

june 17th - june 24th

on june 19th was my computer science exam. again, the subjects we had to solve were very easy and intuitive. this one also went well, except for the fact that i forgot how to take a screenshot on a windows 7 computer, which meant i lost some points overall.

on june 18th i started working on a crochet doll, with no pattern and absolutely no prior knowledge about crocheting dolls. this became more and more obvious as i kept getting closer to finishing it, because the cute round-shaped bunny plushie that i was aiming for actually turned out WAY more human-shaped than i wanted. my worst doubts were confirmed when i showed it to my mother and she called it a voodoo doll... so then i made a little scarf for it, in an attempt to make it a bit less creepy. now it's still not really finished, because i decided i also want to make a winter coat for it, to go along with the scarf. at this point i might as well make an entire wardrobe for this plushie.

on june 23rd i went to a pottery class, where i made this leaf-shaped tray. the lady teaching us was very very nice and explained everything very clearly! there was a small language barrier, which lead to some funny moments, but otherwise didn't really affect anything. we used dried flowers and lace, and some of us used some small letter stamps to write a message on it. the bubbles i added might've made the leaf tray look a bit more childish, but i'm proud of it overall. the pizza box was given to us by the teacher, for ease of transportation lmao (honestly, it was a great idea because as you can see the leaf tray fit PERFECTLY in it). now the problem is that the teacher does not have a kiln anymore, so WHERE do i find a place that has one??? do we try to go to an art highschool and ask if they have one? or find another place that offers pottery classes and hope they let us use their kiln?? this is a problem i've still not solved (it's been 2 weeks) but i'm still hopeful,,

june 24th - july 1st

i spent most of this week studying for the exam that took place on july 1st. it was a literature exam, and the subjects we got were pretty easy THANKFULLY. despite that, me and literature just do NOT get along so i ended up getting a 8.15. well, at least it's considered a decent grade. one of the funnier things that happened was that we had to wait almost 2 extra hours for our papers to be scanned because none of the scanners worked properly (for context: the exam lasted 3 hours). though it's only "funny" looking back on it, because at the time i was SO hungry, tired and furious pffff

on july 1st was also the release of "tranzine the internet"!! literally the first thing i did after coming home from the exam was to CHECK IF THE ZINE HAD BEEN RELEASED. it came along so well and honestly each page is so heart-touching. i loved getting to contribute to it, but more importantly i REALLY loved reading it. definitely something i'd recommend if you are into wholesome zines, here is the link

july 1st - july 8th

i finished all of my exams on july 4th and received my grades on july 8th! now what. well, i'm taking a gap year to figure out which college i would like to go to. this is basically the equivalent of murder in my country, but i really don't want to rush in head-first into a random college and then realize i've wasted years of my life on something i did not enjoy at all. my plans for the gap year are to build an art portofolio and see what other courses i can go to, to get extra qualifications. (if that's how you say it?) oh yeah, my birthday's also soon!. coincidentally, a band from abroad are coming to my country for a concert right on my birthday (being very vague here hahah). will try to see if i can go, i'd be upset if i missed it especially since it's really rare for bands to come here.

july 6th was a monumental day. i finally got new shoes that FIT, after literal years of being suffocated by my old shoes. FREEDOM AT LAST. they're cute too, dark grey with turquoise accents. anything that is turquoise WILL catch my attention...

most of my free time this past week has been spent doing attacks on artfight. i initially wasn't planning to participate this year, but the theme really convinced me to. even though i barely have any characters and reference sheets, it's been really really fun so far (especially seeing people's reactions to my attacks). i actually have like 6 sketches that i can't wait to finish!!!

and today, on the 10th of july, i am finishing up writing this blog post while sitting in a train. i'd write about today too, but i think it would get too long, too boring, too rambly. here's a picture of my cat in a cardboard house, thank you for reading this far :)
